Position Summary:

‍

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team in Houston. The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for providing comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects, including transmission, distribution, and substations. This role involves working closely with project teams to track, bid, and secure profitable projects while ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed cost estimates for medium and high voltage electrical substation projects, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze blueprints, technical documents, and project specifications to prepare accurate estimates.
• Travel to job sites as needed to assess materials, labor requirements, and other relevant factors.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to create effective constructability plans and estimates.
• Use estimation software and tools (primarily Excel and Bluebeam) to generate and refine estimates.
• Consult with industry experts and management to resolve issues and discuss estimates.
• Track project budgets versus actual performance and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist in writing work scopes and reviewing contract change orders and field change order proposals.
• Prepare and submit all required documentation in accordance with company policies.

Experience & Education Required:

‍

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical substation and transmission construction estimation.
• Proven expertise in full-cycle estimation for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and estimation software.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Skills:

‍

Experience in medium and high voltage electrical construction.

Knowledge of estimating for EPC projects and related types of work including electrical and civil substation construction, distribution, and transmission line construction.

Additional Information:

‍

This position requires working in the office 3 days a week, with potential future adjustments to a 2 Fridays off per month schedule.

Minimal travel required; most projects are based in the Greater Houston area.
