Superintendent - Commercial
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent for our commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in leading and managing construction activities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This role is essential for ensuring that all project operations run smoothly and meet client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and coordinate the work of subcontractors and trade partners. Manage daily project activities, including safety, scheduling, quality control, and budget adherence.
- Safety Management: Foster a strong safety culture on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, establish baselines with subcontractor input, and review progress with the project team.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets project specifications and quality standards. Document and address any quality issues promptly.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, safety inspections, and project performance. Prepare and submit reports as needed.
- Team Management: Supervise construction teams and subcontractors, provide clear direction, and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs, manage change orders, and ensure financial aspects of the project are kept in line with the budget.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction management with a proven track record of handling medium to large-scale projects (over $20 million).
- Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and project management practices.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and enforce safety protocols and standards on-site.
- Coordinate with the project team and manage project mobilization and turnover.
- Develop and manage project schedules and ensure adherence to project plans.
- Oversee quality inspections and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Attend and contribute to owner meetings and manage project closeout processes.
